Yes, it's true. Evil aliens, intent on the destruction/subjugation of planet earth to further their galactic empires...take their spaceship design cues straight from Redmond. In fact, they liked the design for Microsoft's Xbox 360 ring of light so much...that they thought they should put on the bridge of their super alien spaceship. Well I mean, really, who wouldn't. They changed the colour from green, to purple, as purple is a more fear inspiring colour suitable for any self respecting subjugating alien race. But this raises important questions. Did the alien ship have their four controllers synced with wires or wireless? Can alien ships rrod? Or wait...if the normal colour for a 360 is green but for aliens its purple...CAN their rrod...maybe they blue ring of death! The possibilitlies are endless. Or maybe purple is their broken colour and they're normally yellow...and they failed to notice their spaceship had suffered a general hardware failure. CARELESS. Anywho, without further ado, I must present the evidence. Two frames taken from Series 3, Episode 4 of Dr Who, featuring the bridge of the Sontaran warship, and the third image showing the Xbox 360's ring of light. Coincedence? I think not. |

I've got around to processing a bunch of the thousand or so shots I took. This is a really teeny amount of them, and excludes stuff like family shots and other stuff I simple haven't processed yet. But it does have most of the stuff I covered, and the better shots out of the selection. I'll upload them to Flickr tomorrow, but its roughly 200MB worth. Flickr Pro acccounts really are worth it :)
I've also completed processing the shots of Zen in Paris. He had a fun time. Gallery - Paris (37 Photos) Gallery - Zen (9 Photos) |

I'm back from Paris. It was a brilliant trip, and I had a great time. I'll write some more crap tomorrow, which is the official day of rest and epic photo processing; Lightroom's final count on photos came to 1115 in total, which means that the shutter, which is rated for 100,000 exposures, is now 1.1% closer to failure. Sure only a few of the pics will be any good, but its digital...I'm not counting (well I am now). Also, I've decided the 18-55mm kit lens is actually bloody good. I've been mainly using the 50mm F1.8 II (which one should buy if you have a Digital Rebel / EOS xxxD) until now, but in Paris, I've needed the versatility of wide angle (well, as wide as 18 * 1.6 is). I've had it at F/5.0 instead of F/3.5 at 18mm though, and some shots have been at F/8.0 when theres been enough light to make the shots sharper, but the lens has performed excellently. |
